Moroka Swallows have come back from a goal down to defeat Manning Rangers 2-1 in a Castle Premiership encounter at the Chatsworth Stadium on Wednesday night.
The win moves Swallows up to second in the table, helping them bounce back from the disappointment of losing to Jomo Cosmos in extra time in the final of the SAA Supa 8 on Sunday.
This was Steve Komphela's team's first defeat of the season after collecting two wins and a draw prior to this game.
The visitors did well for the first ten minutes, but were then hit by a sucker punch, Alton Meiring's fourth goal in as many games for the Mighty Maulers on 12 minutes. The strike followed a good cross from Edson Minga.
There were few chances for either side for the remainder of the half, as glovemen Greg Etafia and Chad Harpur kept the strikers at bay.
It took the visitors just ten minutes in the second half to find the equaliser their play deserved, midfielder Albert Kometsi latching onto the loose ball to fire home.
From there on in it seemed there could be only one winner and so it proved as Bafana Bafana winger Lucas Sebona earned his side all three point with a 75th minute goal.
Swallows coach Gavin Hunt will be delighted with the application his side showed over the 90 minutes, particularly in view of their tough battle with Cosmos just three days earlier.
