Ngobeni pays tribute to Hunt
Moroka Swallows midfielder Samuel Ngobeni has paid tribute to coach Gavin Hunt for turning his career around.

The Meadowlands-born player has been in fine form this season pulling the creative strings in central midfield as the Birds have once again challenged for the Castle Premiership.

After five seasons with the club, Ngobeni is finally starting to consistently play to his full potential.

In fact such has been his influence in the side, that the close-season departure of last seasons star performer Jabu Mendu has hardly been felt.

This season I have been playing very well because Gavin Hunt has shown a lot of confidence in me, says the 27-year-old.

I always listen to any advice that he gives me and do whatever he asks.

He has also made sure both me and the rest of the squad keep in top shape throughout the season by working us very hard at times but also knowing when to give our bodies a break.

Ngobeni also attributes his success this season to his midfield partner and team captain Goodman Mazibuko.

We are good friends off the pitch and have a very good understanding with each other, he reveals.

Goodman is a great defensive midfielder which allows me to try and be creative and get the team going forward.

But he is also good on attack and I have to make sure that I get back and cover for him when he takes the ball up field.
