Beautiful Birds confirm Ouseb signing
Moroka Swallows have confirmed that they have boosted their squad with the signing of a top class defender - the vastly experienced Namibian international Mohammed Ouseb.

Ouseb has just returned with the rest of the team from the Bird's pre-season tour of Lesotho, and MD Leon Prins confirmed to the club's website that the player will be turning out in the colours of the Dube Birds this season.

"We are very excited about signing Mohammed," he said. "He is a high quality defender who will bring more stability to the back.

"Mohammed is a Namibian international who has just spent three seasons in Norway. Before that he was the Player of the Season while at Kaizer Chiefs, so he is certainly a defender of high quality."

Swallows have been a defender 'light' since the departure of George Hummel to Russia midway through last season, and Ouseb may well be the final piece in coach Gavin Hunt's 'jigsaw puzzle' as the Bird's coach goes about assembling a league challenging side.

"I think we will, be a lot stronger than last season, Prins continued. "We have added some great players to the team and I expect us to do really well this campaign.

"Srtiker Cecil Oerson looks very promising. He was the top goal scorer at Bloemfontein Celtic last season and at present he is the fittest player at Swallows, so we are expecting big things from him.

"Alfred Phiri will be a vital addition to the middle of the park, where his left-foot will provide a good balance.

"Then there is Ivan Winstanley, who is quick and strong, and also very versatile. He will be a good man to have in the squad.

"So overall I think we have bought very wisely and we are all looking forward to the new season," concluded the Birds' boss.
