Its been a busy couple of weeks for us lately.  Last weekend we played Supersport United at the Rand Stadium, it was a tough physical encounter with both teams trying to get into the top three.

United are just below us on the table but have a game in hand and we knew we couldnt afford to lose.  Both teams had a few chances, Ashley Opperman was sent off in the first half and it was backs to the wall for the remaineder of the game, we did well to come away with a point.

Next game for us was Ajax Cape Town; it was the start of our defense of the Absa Cup. Everybody is really up to the task of defending our trophy, and it showed against Ajax.

The team did really well.  We created a lot of chances and luckily we took a few of them. We could have scored a few more but unfortunately I havent quite found my scoring boots yet, Im still trying to get used to playing striker again, I havent played there in 5 years.

Edzai Kasinayou opened the scoring for us, Dennis Lota added to our score.  Ajax scored and put a bit of pressure on us but Alfred Phiri scored to put us through to the next round.  We play Manning Rangers in the next round; it will be a repeat of last years final.

This week it was back to league action as we hosted Silver Stars at the Rand Stadium.

Matches on a Wednesday are always hard to get into.  Very few supporters come to these games and there isnt much atmosphere.  The small bunch of supporters that come try very hard, the players thank them and appreciate it.

The game was pretty even.  Greg Etafia saved a penalty to keep us in the game and Goodman Mazibuko scored a good header to give us the lead and 3 points.

We still have a couple of injuries and suspensions.  Shaun Permall is still out with a knee injury hopefully he will be back in the next 2 weeks; Ivan Winstanley has an Achilles problem and could need an operation next week. Cecil Oerson hurt his neck against Ajax and missed the stars match but should be back for our next game.

Peter Peterson has injured his ankle again and is out for a week or two.  Edzai has had a problem with his ankle but was on the bench against Stars we hope he recovers soon.  Conrad Hendriks strained his inner thigh muscle and sat out as well.Ashley Opperman and Alfred Phiri are both available now after suspensions.

Our under 19 squad will be playing in the Metropolitan Cup in Cape Town from the 23rd to 28th March.  This prestigious cup has teams from all over S.A. taking part as well as international teams.  We wish them well and I will keep you updated.

This Sunday our junior teams, under 15, u17, u19 are all going to Secunda to play exhibition matches against Sasol Juventus, this has been an initiative by our supporters branch in Secunda.  I will let you know next week how they did.
