Jomo Cosmos booked their place in the semi-final of the lucrative ABSA Cup when they overcame a stubborn Silver Stars 2-1 at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday.
Teboho Mokoena headed a last-minute goal to break Stars hearts after the minnows had looked to force the match into extra time.
There was nothing to choose between the two sides in the first half as Stars matched their more illustrious opponents in all departments.
The first division outfit, who accounted for PSL title favourites Orlando Pirates in the last sixteen, were looking to add Cosmos to their list of prized scalps.
Even after going a goal down ten minutes into the second half when Russell Mwafulirwa put Cosmos in the lead to take his tally for the competition to three, the first division underdogs showed a lot of character to restore parity through Jabulani Nkosi as full time loomed.
As the clash looked destined for extra time, Bafana midfielder Mokoena intervened with a last-gasp header to confirm the end of Silver Stars Cup odyssey and Ezenkosis place in the semi-final.
