Wits are the Metropolitan Premier Cup winners after they beat Tuks Academy in Cape Town on Monday.
They won the trophy courtesy of a 3-1 win in the penalty shootout, with Tuks missing three of their spotkicks.
The match was tied at one-apiece after regulation time and, with extra time failing to produce a winner, the game was decided in the exciting, if unfortunate, manner.
Wits looked to be cruising after they scored the opener in the third minute through Nathaniel Jafta, who capitalised on some good work by Bradley Kelly and Themba Ntsibange.
It took Tuks until four minutes after the break to level matters, with Mpho Chabangu the beneficiary of a lucky bounce to keep his side in the game.
However, they couldnt keep their nerve in the penalty shootout and ultimately had to settle for the runner-up spot.
