Bafana Suffer Further Setbacks 29/04/03
Bafana Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba has suffered his now customary late withdrawals ahead of Wednesday nights friendly against Jamaica at the Athlone Stadium.

Following on the disappointing news that Quinton Fortune will not make the trip, the South Africans will now have to make do without defender Bradley Carnell.

Team manager Stanley Tshabalala confirmed that the VfB Stuttgart player had been in contact to inform him of an ankle injury picked up in weekend Bundesliga action.

Carnell phoned me personally and explained he was injured and could not make the trip because of the injury he sustained at the weekend, he was quoted on Sapa.

He added that they would not call up any players any players to come in for the injured duo.

We named 21 players to begin with as we had the feeling that one or two players might drop out. Therefore we will not need to call up any players to replace Fortune or Carnell. We have enough players in the squad and will make do with the 19 that remain.

Mashaba is also still awaiting the arrivals of FC Copenhagen star midfielder Sibusiso Zuma and Lillestrom goalkeeper Emile Baron.
