2003 Telkom Charity Cup Launched 23/06/03
This season's edition of the Telkom Charity Cup Competition was launched at the Summer Place near Johannesburg today.

The competition will be held on August 2 and will consist of the four teams who receive the most votes from the South African public.

The teams who competed in last year's competition were Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs, Black Leopards and Moroka Swallows.

Chiefs beat their traditional rivals Orlando Pirates 1-0 in a hotly contested semi-final, while Leopards accounted for Swallows with a 2-1 win in the other semi.

Chiefs then went on to win the final by beating Leopards 8-7 on penalties after the game had finished goalless.

The day was a great success with over 80 000 fans packed into the FNB stadium and 56 various charity organisations benefited from the event.
