Moroka Swallows have added experienced former Orlando Pirates striker Dennis Lota to their squad for the coming season, it was announced by the club on Friday.
Lota's signing will be welcomed by fans of the Beautiful Birds, who will be hoping he can form a lethal partnership in front of goal with another new signing, former Kaizer Chiefs star Shaun Permall
Zambian international Lota has been training with Swallows for the past few weeks and did enough to convince coach Gavin Hunt he could do a job for the side.
"He gives us something different up front," Hunt exclusively told Morokaswallows.co.za. "I felt all of our strikers were quite similar, but now we have some variety.
"I am also in the position now that I have two players competing for each position in the side, something I did not have last year.
"Competition for places is healthy and it can only benefit a squad to be in such a position," Hunt added.
Meanwhile, Swallows beat Orlando Pirates 3-1 in a friendly match played Friday morning, with striker Kieran Jordaan scoring twice and trialist Cecil Arendse getting the other.
