Zulu Royals have beaten Silver Stars 2-1 to earn their first Castle Premiership win of the season at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban on Saturday.
The match was an entertaining affair, with Royals probably just shading it in terms of possession and chances in front of goal.
Caretaker coach Gavin Lane will be delighted with the way his team responded to the challenge, while his counterpart Owen da Gama can be disappointed at failing to claim a vital away point.
After a goalless first half, Innocent Mhlangu gave Usuthu the lead just after the break, firing into the roof of the net from the righthand side of the penalty area.
To their credit, Stars did not let their heads drop and they equalised on 70 minutes, as neat work on the edge of the area allowed Jabulani Nkosi to fire home for the visitors.
That looked like it was the way it would stay, but second before the end Vincent Mathebula fired home from the edge of the area after some hesitant defending from Stars to give his side all three points.
