Wits University and Golden Arrows are lying ninth and tenth on the Castle Premiership standings after four games, both having had a disappointing start to their campaigns.
The teams will have a chance to make amends, however, as the Students host Abafana'Bes Thende on Wednesday at the Bidvest Stadium and a win for either side will see them move into second position on the Castle Premiership Log.
Wits have not conceded any goals since the start of the season and have only scored one. Coach Roger De Sa told SASoccer365.com, "Our team is balanced in attack and defence, and although we have only scored one goal, we created many chances and I think it's a mater of time before we start scoring."
Khabo Zondo's squad won 2-0 against Dynamos at Kings Park two-weeks-ago, but were held 1-1 by Kaizer Chiefs at the same venue four days later.
Hendrik 'Ace' Gulwa is the chief playmaker and features in most of the attacks of Arrows, forming a lethal combination with Mabhuti Khanyeza.
De Sa has identified Khanyeza as the Arrows danger man.
"They're a good attacking team with nippy players, and Khanyeza I'm sure will be our biggest threat from their offense," he said.
Wits go into the game with no suspensions or injuries and De Sa is spoilt for choice with his first team. He would not reveal who will be in his starting line up, but knows all too well that a win for the Students could move them up as high as second position.
Wits: Roberts, Hodgskin, Murisa, Ngwenya, Schalkwyk, Mahoa, Mougoula, Mhlongo, I Winstanley, N Winstanley, Yohane
Arrows: Phiri, Mhlangu, Khanyile, Mkhonza, Langa, Gumbi, Ntsoane, Dladla, Gulwa, Khanyeza, Sibeko
Players To Watch:
Wits: Wayne Roberts, Wits Player of the year, has kept a clean sheet for four games and his form should warrant a Bafana Bafana call up soon. He will have his defence on their toes with the expected speedy attacks from Arrows.
Arrows: Mabhti Khanyeza was called up to the National Squad for his goals and constant running at defenders. The Wits defence will be thoroughly tested by this young goal poacher.
