Stars Host SuperSport in Coke Cup 04/10/03
Rookies Silver Stars have not got off to the best of starts in their first ever season in the Premier Soccer League (PSL), and will be hoping for better luck when they embark on their maiden Coca Cola Cup campaign against SuperSport United at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday afternoon. (Kick-off is at 16.00).

Stars are yet to register a win in the Castle Premiership, although their confidence would have been bolstered by a recent 1-1 draw with defending champions Orlando Pirates, who only managed to grab an equaliser through a controversial 80th minute penalty.

The Polekwane team made a name for themselves as cup specialists when they knocked out the Buccaneers in last season's Absa Cup, and Matsatsantsa coach Pitso Mosimane will know that he cannot afford to take Owen Da Gama's side lightly.

Players like Daniel "Sailor" Tshabalala and Surprise Moriri made name for themselves during this cup run, and although Tshabalala has moved onto Pirates, Stars have gained a quality player in Thabang Lebese, who is out to prove that he has plenty of soccer left in him yet.

SuperSport have also not enjoyed a great start to the season and are currently languishing in 10th position. A team of their status should be occupying a much higher position and they will be looking to gain much needed confidence by going on a good cup run.
