Doctor Mum On New Chiefs Player 15/10/03
Kaizer Chiefs have a mystery midfielder training at Naturena but are at pains to reveal who it is out of fear that one of their rivals will steal the player from under their noses, according to club legend Doctor Khumalo.

Writing in his column for Soccer Laduma, Khumalo reveals that the Chiefs squad is injury-free and will be training as usual this week accompanied by a new face.

We do have a midfielder who is on trial with us and we will make a decision in the next couple of days about whether we are going to sign him.

I dont want to mention his name in the column because there are a lot of vultures out there and the last thing we want to do is have a number of teams swooping for his signature and putting him under unnecessary pressure. So far he is doing well.

Where the mystery man will slot in at Chiefs is unclear as Ted Dumitrus squad is already blessed with a wealth of talent and firing on all cylinders.

Whoever it is they will need to go someway to gatecrash a party that already includes Bafana Bafana players Stanton Fredericks, John Moshoeu, Jabu Pule and  Jabu Mendu as well as Thabo Mooki, Arthur Zwane, Rene Richards, Tenashe Nengomasha and Junior Khanye.
