The Coca Cola Cup Double header played at Newlands last night saw Ajax Cape Town advancing to the quarter finals of the richest cup competition in Africa.
Dynamos were beaten 1-0 by Ajax while Hellenic lost on penalties to Jomo Cosmos in a game they were capable of winning.
The support for Ajax was plentiful while Hellenic, who are having a miserable season, also received support from supporters in red-and-white.
Elia Hadjidakis, CEO of Hellenic, called Ajax Cape Town's CEO John Comitis to thank him and the Urban Warriors fans for the support they showed on a rainy Cape Town evening.
Such a show of solidarity can only be good for Cape Town football and it's clubs, who generally struggle to compete with the big teams in Gauteng when it comes to crowd support.
Ajax are looking to progress to the finals of the Coke Cup and hopefully meeting Kaizer Chiefs who beat them 1-0 in the semi-final clash of the same competition last season.
