Wits, Cosmos Square Up In Coke Cup 29/10/03
Wits University will be entertaining Jomo Cosmos at the Bidvest Stadium in a Coca Cola Cup quarterfinal clash on Wednesday night and the visitors will hoping to continue their magnificent recent cup success.

Cosmos are the reigning Coke Cup champions from last season and the inaugural SAA Supa 8 winners from this. That being the case, the Ezenkosi have been termed cup specialists, much o the annoyance of coach Jomo Sono.

Wits, on the other hand, have not won a cup competition since 1995 when their youthful side boasting the likes of Junaid Hartley, Bradley Carnell and Lovers Mohlala started their professional careers.

The Students won the Coca Cola Cup and the now defunct BP Top 8 in that year.

A previous meeting this season saw the Jo'burg teams drew 0-0 in the Castle Premiership and Wits coach Roger De Sa was not pleased not that occasion with the tough-tackling Cosmos players, who he felt were over-physical.

Ezenkosi are known as a robust team, but it is a style that works for them, as proven by their recent cup success. Wits are arguably a more consistent side, having finished third in the Castle Premiership last season and currently lying second in this campaign without having conceded a goal in their seven games.

Probable line-ups:
Wits: Roberts, Hodgskin, Mouyouma, N Winstanley, Mahoa, I Winstanley, Mhlongo, Yohane, Bunjira, Schalkwyk, Murisa

Cosmos: Phali, Gould, Rabutla, Mohlala, Mabalane, Sephadi, Ntsume, Mokoena, Mhlathe, Cunha, Mwafulirwa

Players To Watch:
Wits: Ivan Winstanley has surprised critics and his coach with his runs upfront and has scored vital goals. The midfielder's work rate is second to none and this form should make it difficult for Shakes Mashaba to select his squad for Tunisia.

Cosmos: Clint Sephadi is up against the team where he started at and won two Cup titles. He has been instrumental for Cosmos in winning the SAA Supa8 and the 30 year old knows what it takes to win the trophy's.
