S.A. Adds Madiba Spice To World Cup Bid 31/10/03
The Moroccans have turned to their King in their quest to host the world cup and now South Africa have added some Madiba spice to their own world cup bid.

The former state president Nelson Mandela has turned to the South Americans for support.

Mandela has written a letter to Nicolas Leoz , the South American Confederation president who is also a FIFA executive committee member, requesting that South America backs South Africa's bid.

"I have to tell you very sincerely that South Africans could not dream of a more beautiful gift than obtaining the organization of the first world cup on African soil," Madiba is quoted as saying on the Supersport website.

With five African countries fighting for the chance to host this soccer master piece, South Africa is not leaving any stone unturned to have the best possible bid plan.

The Madiba magic has been know to be the lucky charm whenever it has been used in the past and everyone will be hoping that it will work for South Africa this time around.
