Swallows Stay With The Pack 09/11/03
Moroka Swallows returned to winning ways when they scored a 3-1 win over a Black Leopards side which was reduced to 9 men after both goalkeeper Michel Babale and striker Kelvin Mushangazhike received their marching orders.

The Birds took the lead as early as the 13th minute via an own goal when David Solopi put the ball into his own net while trying to clear a Warren Lewis cross.

Babale was then sent off in the 25th minute for descent, forcing coach David Byrne to withdraw Justice Sithole from the attack in order to bring in reserve keeper Walter Khumalo.

Swallows were dominating the match at this stage and should have increased their lead through Lucas Sebona in the 34th minute, but the lanky winger shot into the side-netting.

The Birds then did manage to take advantage of their superiority when Lungisani Ndlela rose above the visiting defence to double the score for his team on the stroke of half time.

Ndlela should have increased the lead 10 minutes into the second stanza, but failed to convert an easy chance.

Mushangazhike then gave Lidoda Duvha a glimmer of hope when he scored with a well struck free-kick in the 68th minute.

However, Swallows' Zambian striker Dennis Lota made sure of the win for his team when he scored the Birds third goal in the 71st minute, sending the Birds up into fourth position.
