Being new in the Sundowns set up did not stop co-coach Khabo Zondo from leashing out at some of the players whom he thinks are not committed to the team after Sundowns lost to City Sharks, a division one team, in a friendly match on Friday.
Sundowns played two friendly games on Friday - in the first game they played against former PSL contenders, Classic, winning 4-0, thanks to goals by Ishmael Maluleke (2), Lucky Qaba and Sandile "Gash" Ndlovu.
It is in the second game they lost 2-1 to Sharks, a result which didn't do down too well with Zondo.
"I was really and truly upset and deeply disturbed by the lack of effort from some of the players in the second game against Sharks," he told the club's website.
From Zondo's point of view some of the players lack determination to play to win and he needs that to change.
"When l saw the lack of hunger, the shocking lack of determination and effort, that alone disturbed me terribly. I think we need to sit down with the players perhaps with the management and talk about these things" the disappointed Zondo added.
The big spending Sundowns are not doing very well in the league, they are currently at number ten position on the log with 10 points from a possible 30 points and if one looks at the amount of money they spent on players one would expect them not to lose to a division one team.
"When l see a lack of application, lack of esteem from players wearing the colours of such a tradition steeped club as Sundowns, l really get annoyed and l think the time has come for a lot of introspection from some of the players," warned Zondo.
