SuperSport Away Game Abandoned 05/12/03
A massive stage in the middle of Chatsworth Stadium has prevented Manning Rangers from hosting SuperSport United in a Castle Premiership game which was supposed to kick-off at 8pm on Friday evening.

Sasoccer365.com asked Afzal Khan, manager of Rangers and Pitso Mosimane, SuperSport's coach, about the man-made structure which has stopped the only league game scheduled for Friday night and this is what they had to say.

"We were as surprised as SuperSport to find a stage on the soccer field this evening," a dissapointed Khan told SAsoccer365.com

"The council owns the grounds and we were not informed that a festival is to take place at the stadium on Saturday."

United coach Pitso Mosimane was dissapointed with this bizarre postponement of their away fixture.

"We come all the way from Pretoria to find out that there is a stage on the pitch and now we can't play," a disgruntled Pitso said to SAsoccer365.com

"It's a waste of money and what are we supposed to do now, relax at our hotel rooms? We definitely will be taking this to the PSL as this should not happen at the highest level of football."
