Sundowns were held to a 1-1 draw in a Castle Premiership game at the Odi Stadium against unfancied Black Leopards on Sunday Afternoon.
The visitors went into the lead as early as the 11th minute of the game after Leopards midfielder Christopher Netshidzivhe beat home goalkeeper Andre Arendse with a thunder-bolt shot inside the 18 yard-area.
Minutes earlier Arendse had made a good save when Nhlanhla Mathebula tried his luck from the same range too.
Manqoba Ngwenya beat the visitors keeper Walter Khumalo but his shot just went inches wide of the goal mouth as the striker watched in disbelief.
The home team went into the break 1-0 down.
The Brazilians came out fighting in the second half and veteran striker Daniel Mudau supplied Simba Marumo with a defence-splitting pass which the former Inter Milan striker headed home in the 50th minute.
The hosts put pressure on their visitors but could not find a way past Khumalo who stood his ground against their late onslaught.
Lidoda Duvha have 16 points from 11 Castle Premiership games while Downs are on 11 points from the same amount of games. The teams are seventh and ninth on the Castle Premiership standings respectively.
