While Castle Premiership teams battled it out on Sunday, First Division clubs were contesting the second round of the Absa Cup.
The Inland division had four games taking place over the weekend with Classic beating Bloemfontein Young Tigers 6-5 after a penalty shoot-out, Mabopane Young Masters easily overcoming Welkom Stars 3-0, Dangerous Darkies edging All Nations 1-0 and Alexandra United 3-1 victors over Winners Park.
In the Coastal stream only two games were played after the third game, between Maritzburg United and Bush Bucks was abandoned due to a water-logged pitch in Pietermaritzburg.
In the game completed FC Fortune won 3-2 against Cape Town rivals Vasco Da Gama, while Durban Stars moved to the next round putting two past Park United.
