The Premier Soccer League (PSL) have awarded the points from the Manning Rangers vs SuperSport United clash that was due to take place on Friday, December 5, to the visitors after a Disciplinary Committee meeting last night.
In effect, SuperSport United have been handed a 2-0 victory for the game that failed to take place.
Rangers were found guilty of contravening law 11.1.8, failure to fulfil a fixture, after the teams arrived at the Chatsworth Stadium for the 8pm kick-off, only to find that there was a massive stage erected in the centre of the field for a music festival that was to happen the following day.
In addition, the Mighty Maulers have been fined R60,000, R20,000 payable within 30 days, and R40,000 suspended for 12 months.
PSL CEO Trevor Phillips was damning of the whole debacle when speaking to the media this week and this should send a message to teams that the organisation will not poor planning such as this.
