Kaizer Chiefs bought a new striker from the DRC while it was the last time Lesley Manyathela would grace the biggest match in South Africa.
The first derby of the season ended in a 1-1 draw, Kubamba Musasa putting Chiefs ahead in the 56th minute, before Manyathela bagged the equaliser in the 87th minute, one of the goals that would eventually see Slow Poison top the goal scoring charts for the season.
John 'Shoes' Moshoeu then should the youngsters a thing or two when he scored against Pirates in the second derby of the season.
Moshoeu's goal came in the 72nd minute and David Radebe added the second six minutes later as the game ended 2-0 to Amakhosi.
The teams also clashed in the Charity Cup with Lucky Maselesele scored the only goal for the Amakhosi.
