Readers Views: The Bafana Squad

The SASoccer365 readers have been calling for soccer fans to stand behind Shakes Mashaba and the Bafana Bafana team...

There Was Life Before Benni

I found it strange that you condemn Shakes before he even starts the tournament.

The Benni issue is that Safa blundered big time by agreeing with Benni's manager without consulting with the technical staff of which Shakes is the head.
How on earth do we find a player approaching the soccer body about how he should be treated long before the squad is announced?

This is a National squad not a club where the bosses makes decisions. I am afraid our Safa are headed by people who don't have the national teams interests at heart.
Shakes was supposed to be consulted about that meeting with Rob Moore and he is the one to make a final decision. What precedent are they setting by allowing the player to dictate as to how he should be selected.

We should be brave enough to say NO to such things. There was life before Benni and surely there will be life after him.
Let us support Bafana Bafana and judge them thereafter. I for one have full confidence in the players selected. They can deliver at any stage.

The media should be careful about their negative reporting, though warning is welcome but to force players to the coach and condemning the coach won't take us anywhere as a nation.

We have been crying for local coach now that we have him let us give him full support and not working against him. I knew long ago that Safa won't make things easy for Shakes.
What has happened is just the beginning. Mark my words Safa have something up their sleeves to make Shakes fail bring in the Back stabber whom we all know never coaches to qualify, but just pops up from nowhere to finish what others have work hard to achieve.

Judge Shakes By The Results

As far as I know S'busiso Zuma is a natural striker although some coaches prefer to use him on the wing.

Your comments shows no support to the coach,I must be honest with you I also expected some players to be included in the squad especially Phil Evans, but I guess we have so many players who deserve to be on the squad but there's only 22 places.

So despite of the team selection scenario let us give the squad support and judge Shakes by the results.

Put The Blame On CAF

Hi Mr Editor , It is not true that Mashaba has an agreement with Benny Mcarthy.

The player, through his agent, requested Safa to allow McCarthy to join the team later in Tunisia.

The association did not approve that because to do so would be to disobey FIFA rules that stipulate that for the Continental showpiece "players must be released two weeks before the tournament".

Our soccer will continue to have problems for as long as we do not enforce CAF & FIFA rules on this country vs club debate.

For the record I am not surprised about the players resignation because his agent emigrated from this country after he failed to make in our soccer.

It would be very interesting for him to advise Benny to play for Bafana. Anyway the Country vs Club problem is not Safa's problem , It is CAF's problem because our league is in line with Europe. So put the blame on CAF.
