Orlando Pirates midfielder Bennedict Vilakazi was forced to wait almost three hours for his bride-to-be, Motshabi Motalingoane, to turn up at their wedding.
At one stage Vilakazi was not even sure if Motalingoane, who hails from Durban, would show up after the two families were involved in an altercation regarding traditional rituals.
The misunderstanding arose over the fact that Vilakazi is a Zulu while Motalingoane is a Sotho, which meant that the two families had different customs surrounding the marriage rituals.
Apparently Motalingoane was having second thoughts and had to be persuaded by the two families to go through with the wedding.
The bride did eventually arrive at the Ubuntu Kraal chapel in Soweto, much to the relief of the Bucs playmaker.
