Engen Santos FC plan to conclude this years home games with a big bang. The Peoples team will host Wits University at Athlone Stadium on Wednesday 17 December 2003 in a clash marked by skill, strength and stamina - both teams are key contenders for Castle Premiership glory!
Coach Roger De Sa and his Wits team, have always been known to produce football of the highest caliber and this season it has been no different. The Clever Boys have already shown that they are a formidable force with an impressive 12-game unbeaten run, only conceding one goal since the start of the 2002/2003 league season.
With The Peoples teams dynamic performances in the league so far, their determination and hard work was finally rewarded when they leapt to the top of the log - for the first time this season - after beating Jomo Cosmos 2-0 on Wednesday December 3.
Engen Santos is now on a much-deserved winning streak and a win against Wits will secure their challenge for the championship.
History shows that both clubs are evenly matched, as in the last four league encounters, both teams won two and lost two against each other.
Santos does have a slight upper-hand though. In their last encounter, in a cup competition at Athlone Stadium earlier this year, The home team came up tops beating Wits 2-1.
Besides all the on-field action, Engen will add to the festivities by inviting both young and old to become part of the Engen Experience. Once again, spectators can expect to receive their moneys worth, with lots of planned activities.
The kick off is at 20h00, with pre-match entertainment starting at 17h30. Tickets will be available from Wednesday 10 December 2003 at R20.00 for adults and R10.00 for children at the following outlets:
