The restructuring of the two First Division leagues got an early New Year boost with the appointment of a full time General Manager in the form of Andrew Dipela, the former Premier Soccer League (PSL) PRO.
Trevor Phillips, PSL CEO said, "I wanted somebody that I have full confidence in and trust that he will oversee the reduction of the First Division to a 16 strong league."
Dipela has worked with Phillips before while in his post as PRO between 1995 to 2001.
"For too long the league has been run from the edge of people's desks and it was about time that we had somebody with a full compliment of staff to take charge of the league and its competitions," Phillips added.
"I will be making a major sponsorship announcement for the First Division soon, but I would not like to go into those details right now."
Dipela joined the Bela Bela municipal after he left the PSL in 2001 as the Municipal Manager.
"With the experience that I have acquired recently, I think I am ready to take on the challenge. It is exciting that one gets the second chance to work with Trevor and the team." he said.
He will take up his new duties on the first of March 2004.
