Youngsters Head Abroad 09/01/04
Two young South African stars are heading overseas seeking fame and fortune in Europe this week, as the continued exodus of players from the local Castle Premiership shows no sign of abating.

SuperSport United's Thando Mngomeni left on Thursday for Swedish side Helsingboag, according to the club's official website. The Bafana Bafana Under-23 international has long been seen as a star in the making and was instrumental in Matsatsantsa finishing second in the league last season.

Mngomeni has until the end of January to impress his potential suitors.

Meanwhile, Jomo Cosmos star Dikgang Mabalane has signed a six-month loan deal with French Second Division side Laval.

The club's website confirmed the midfielder had become the fourth Cosmos player to leave for France since June, joining Katlego Mphela, Lethola Mofokeng and Thabang Molefe on the continent.
