PSL Preview : Swallows vs Rangers 06/02/04
Moroka Swallows will be looking to build on last weeks good win over SuperSport United when they host an inconsistent Manning Rangers at the Rand Stadium on Saturday afternoon in a Castle Premiership clash.

Swallows are placed fourth and are in contention for the league championship, which just eluded the Soweto giants at the final hurdle last season.

Although the Dube Birds have conceded a goal per game, they have scored 27 times in 15 outings. They are the league's top goal scorers at the moment.

A win will see them edge closer to the top of the table where Ajax are perched with 35 points, two more than Swallows.

Rangers inconsistency is a result of the management problems the Durban club is experiencing and the Dube Birds could take advantage of this weakness.

Rookies Silver Stars beat the inaugural PSL champions 3-1, followed then by the Maulers trouncing defending champs Pirates 2-1 and then losing to Santos by the same score line.

The Durbanites are labouring in 11th position having only won four games this season.

Conversely the Swallows camp are in a confident mood after they massacred SuperSport United 4-1 in a recent game and are ready to take the three points from the visitors.

Swallows defender Peter Petersen is looking forward to putting one over his former team mate at Rangers, Abram Isaks.

"I told Abram he must not forget to pack the three points in his bag for us because we're going to take them!" An upbeat Peterson joked.

"It's always good to come up against ex-players as it makes the game more personal as you don't want to lose against a friend who plays for another team," he added.

"The guys have been hard at work at training an we all in good spirits after we whacked SuperSport 4-1," an excited Peterson said.

Probable Starting XI

Swallows (4-4-2): Hendricks, Petersen, McNab, Lewis, Christian, Sebona, Rabolele, Ngobeni, Kasinauyo, Lota, Ndlela

Rangers (4-4-2): Harpur, Ratsoana, O'Neill, Molapo, Bobbs, Isaks, Mazibuko, Noge, Stuart, Meiring, Studzinski
