Birds welcome Ninja to the nest 11/02/04
Moroka Swallows have boosted their squad with the signing of the talented young South African Under-23 international Gabriel 'Ninja' Mofokeng.

The Dube Birds concluded the deal this (Wednesday) morning and the former Ajax Amsterdam player has signed a contract for the rest of the season.

Swallows general manager Gavin Bernstein was ecstatic about the deal and feels that 'Ninja' will add depth to the team as they look to challenge for title honours.

"This is a great signing for us. Mofokeng is a quality player who can be used in the centre of midfield or in defence if necessary," Bernstein said.

"We have signed him until the end of this season and if everything goes well we will renew his contract then."

The Beautiful Birds faithful will be hoping to see Mofokeng make his debut when the team travels up north to take on Dynamos on Saturday, but this will depend on whether the player's international clearance can be obtained in time.
