Preview: Cosmos v Chiefs 20/02/04
The struggling Jomo Cosmos will take on a high flying Kaizer Chiefs at the Mmbatho Stadium in what promises to be a clash of the titans fixture.

Cosmos have lost two games in the space of three days to Cape-teams Santos and Ajax 3-2 and 1-0 consecutively.

Meanwhile Chiefs have marked their return to the Premiership with a hard fought 1-0 win over Golden Arrows on Wednesday evening.

What gives this game added spice is the fact that the two teams met in the Coca Cola Cup final in 2002 where Ezenkosi managed to beat the Amakhosi 1-0, who in the previous year's final thrashed Cosmos 5-0.

A beating Jomo Sono's men have not forgotten.

The departure of Sammy Magalefa and Lovers Mohlala have seemingly left a gap that coach Sono has not been able to plug.

Cosmos will be relying on the ball winning skills of Teboho Mokoena when he comes up against a speedy and mobile Chiefs midfield led by Bafana Bafana team mate John Moshoeu.

Ezenkosi's all-time leading goal scorer Manuel Bucuane will be closely marked by either Patrick Mabedi, Fabian McCarthy or even Derrick Spencer, who made his debut with Chiefs against Arrows.

David Radebe was the chief destroyer against Cosmos last season scoring once in their first round two-nil win and then getting a brace in a resounding 3-1 victory in the second round of the Castle Premiership while veteran 'Shoes' Moshoeu added to the goals as well.

These statistics that should see the young Radebe start as a lone striker.

Coach Ted Dumitru is certainly not short on options now that seven of his regulars have returned from Tunisia while Sono has to find a way into the top eight teams to stand a chance of defending the inaugural SAA Supa8 championship..

A win for Amakhosi will bring them within one point of the log leaders Santos who have 40 points while victory for Cosmos will take them into a much-needed top eight bracket.
