Ajax Cape Town CEO John Comitis has slammed Kaizer Motaungs suggestion that Gordon Igesund be appointed the next Bafana Bafana coach as an attempt to destabilise the Urban Warriors title challenge.
Speaking on Friday, Comitis said the Kaizer Chiefs chairmans comments were irresponsible and unbecoming of a man of his position.
Mr Motaung is out of order in making statements through the media about the future of Ajax Cape Towns coach, said Comitis.
He has displayed a lack of professional courtesy by publicising his thoughts instead of uttering them behind closed doors or in consultation with the South African Football Association.
Comitis said while Motaungs actions were a veiled attempt to undermine Ajaxs push for a maiden Castle Premiership title, they actually displayed a complete lack of faith in the Amakhosi coaching brains trust.
I think Mr Motaung has inadvertently destabilised (Chiefs coach) Ted Dumitrus efforts to end the clubs championship drought by trumpeting Gordon Igesunds credentials ahead of his for the national coaching hot-seat.
Comitis also moved to reassure the Ajax supporters that they were fully committed to retaining the services of Igesund.
Gordon Igesund is contracted to the club and we have no intention of letting him go, said Comitis.
Ajax and Chiefs have emerged as the front runners for the Castle Premiership title.
Ajax are currently second on the standings with 38 points from 17 games, two points behind league leaders Santos who have played 21 matches.
Chiefs are in third place with 36 points from 15 starts.
