Students too good for Arsenal 29/02/04
Wits University proved too strong for amateur club Gezane Arsenal when they ran out 5-1 winners in an Absa cup game at the Bidvest Stadium on Saturday night.

Gezane Arsenal would have harboured thoughts of a famous upset victory when they took the lead in the 17th minute through a Colin Hobyani penalty after Neil Winstanley had been penalised for a handball inside the 18-yard area.

But their lead was only to last for 10 minutes before a deflected Leonard Xaba shot brought the Clever Boys back onto even terms.

From this point on it was all Wits and five minutes later Ivan Winstanley put Roger de Sa's team into the lead for the first time after receiving a cross from Charles Yohane.

Zimbabwean Alois Bunjira then came to the party for the home side as he made sure of their victory by grabbing a hat-trick with goals in the 32nd, 45th and 58th minutes.
