Amaglug-Glug coach Kenneth 'Conti' Khubeka has named a full strength squad for South Africa's Olympic Qualifying game against Ghana at the HM Pitje Stadium next Saturday.
The South Africans are currently bottom of their qualifying group and stand a very slim chance of reaching the tournament proper in Athens.
The U-23's started off their campaign well with a draw against Ghana and an excellent 4-1 win over Algeria, but after this the wheels came off as they recorded back to back defeats against Zambia.
The team now needs to win all of it's remaining games as well as hope that some of the other results go their way in order to make the trip to Greece later this year.
The South Africans felt that they were hard done in their game against Ghana after a number of dubious decisions by the referee went against them in the first game in Accra.
They will therefore be out for revenge and certainly have a talented enough squad to overcome their West African opponents.
Orlando Pirates once again have the largest (five) contingent of players in the squad, with Benedict Vilakazi, Joseph Makhanya and Edward Malinga especially vital to the team.
Kaizer Chiefs central defender Derrick Spencer and Wits' Tsietsi Mahoa have been rewarded for their impressive PSL form by receiving call-ups.
Khubeka has plenty of attacking options up front with Mabhuti Khanyeza, Ryan Botha and Thando Mngomeni all being players with great potential who could go on to serve Bafana Bafana with distinction in the near future.
With a place in Athens seeming highly unlikely at this stage, the players should at least be looking to enhance their reputations as future national players with a good performance next Saturday.
