McCarthy continues rich vein of scoring form 07/03/04
Love him or hate him, Benni McCarthy is taking the Portuguese football league by storm, having gone on a goal scoring spree for his team by hitting the back of the net six times in their last four games.

On Friday night he scored two goals for FC Porto in their 4-1 win over Belenenses in a Portuguese league match to take his goal tally in the league to16 this season.

He is now the league's top goal scorer and FC Porto are leading the league by 10 points from second placed Sporting Lisbon.

On Tuesday, FC Porto will play Manchester United at Old Trafford in the return match of the UEFA Champions League match.

They beat the British champions 2-1 in the first round game with McCarthy scoring both goals for his team, while fellow South African Quinton Fortune grabbed the goal for the Red Devils.
