Mbesuma injury not serious 08/03/04
Chiefs latest striking sensation Collins Mbesuma will be back in the black-and-gold in two weeks time, manager Bobby Motaung told SAsoccer365 on Monday.

"He was taken for scans and fortunately nothing is broken," Motaung said.

The Zambian under-23 international has been released by the Naturena-based club, with the junior Chipolopolo set to take on Algeria in an Olympic qaulifier on Saturday.

"Collins was called up to represent his country and despite being injured," said Motaung. "The doctors there would obviously want to see the extent of the damage to their player.

"He is an important part of their plans for the Olympics and was impressive in our win against Leopards," Motaung added.

Mbesuma was stretchered off the field after scoring the opening goal on his debut for the Amakhosi in Saturday's 3-1 win over Black Leopards.

"We sent him in for a scan, which came out clear but he is still a bit sore," said team physiotherapist David Milner said on the official Chiefs web site.

"We had to release him to Zambia so that they can also check him that side."
