Bottom of the table Hellenic managed a 1-1 draw with Manning Rangers in a Castle Premiership match played at the PAM Brink Stadium in Springs on Sunday afternoon.
Rangers, who are also in danger of relegation, were the first to score in the 38th minute through a header by Edson Minga following a good build up which started from the back.
Roy Barreto, the coach of the Mighty Maulers, saw his players miss many opportunities in the opening half which they dominated in all departments but could just not increase their lead.
The visitors went to the break leading 1-0.
In the second half Hellenic came back firing on all cylinders and they were rewarded in the 69th when Masixole May scored from the spot after Rangers defender Shaheem Bobs had brought down Katlego in the box.
The Durban side were kept in the game by their defenders who had a busy afternoon keeping the Hellenic strikers under tight wraps.
Lloyd Mumba and Liswa Mduti broke the hearts of Hellenic supporters because of the solid way in which they marshalled their defence, not allowing the hosts to get the all important winning goal.
The result sees Hellenic stay at the bottom of the table while Manning Rangers did not move from their 12th position
