Supersport United narrowly beat Jomo Cosmos 1-0 in Castle Premiership match played at the Rand Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
They were no goals in the first half in which were SuperSport had more of the possession.
The Cosmos defenders did a good job in the first half in denying they opponents from scoring while the Ezenkosi never threatened the goal area of SuperSport in the whole first half.
After the break, the referee Brian Sibisi spoiled otherwise a good match by failing to penalise players from both sides who were making some bone crunching tackles, with the Cosmos players being particularly guilty of going for the ball and the player.
The Pretoria side finally penetrated the Ezenkosi's defence in the 52th minute when Abram Raselemane scored the all important goal.
The match nearly turned into a kick boxing match when Cosmos defender Andrew Rabutla and Cavaan Sibeko exchanged some flying kicks, but surprisingly the referee only cautioned Sibeko with Rabutla getting away free.
Cosmos are still in 11th position with the relegation axe still breathing down their neck
Matsatsantsa are now fifth on the table and they still have an outside chance of winning the league.
