Charlton Athletic defender Mark Fish suffered a freak injury to his back and will be out of action for club and country for three weeks.
Fish, who celebrated his 30th birthday on Sunday, suffered a freak injury at his home in south London, according to Charlton's official web site.
Another website, www.kickoff.com allege that the former Orlando Pirates player fell on a glass table in his lounge while playing with his son, Luke, and suffered lacerations to his shoulder which required 39 stitches.
Fish has made 25 appearances this season for the club who have only two specialist central defenders in Chris Perry and Jonathan Fortune fully fit.
This is a major concern for The Addicks who are fourth on the English Premiership and are challenging for a place in the Uefa Champions league.
Bafana Bafana are scheduled to play Australia in England later this month where Fish was expected to make his come back.
Along with Quinton Fortune and Nasief Morris, the 1996 African champion will have to watch his team from the sidelines.
