Rangers to buy new keeper 01/04/04
The much travelled Bafana Bafana goalkeeper John Tlale is set to join Manning Rangers after his last team Orlando Pirates, failed to renew his contract.

According to Kick-off, Rangers spokesman Manqoba Shangase said the former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper is set to bring competition to Chad Harpur, the current Mighty Maulers number one goalkeeper.

"We felt it was wise to bring someone with experience so that we create some tough competition amongst our three goalkeepers. Chad has been doing well since joining us from an English team, but you know having equally good staff in the team, makes competition exciting," said Shangase.

Tlale has played for Sundowns, Qwa Qwa Stars, Bloemfontein Celtic and Spartak.

He will be joining his former teammate from Qwa Qwa Stars, Steve Komphela who rejoined the Mighty Maulers as their coach after the firing of Roy Barreto as the head coach.

Ironically Komphela left the Durban based team at the start of the season citing interference of team selection by management and joined Dynamos.

The former Bafana Bafana captain left Dynamos this week with the same excuse that team selection was been compromised by management.
