Moroka Swallows booked their place in the Absa Cup quarter-finals after they scored a comfortable 4-0 victory over Tornado FC at the Rand Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Swallows surprised their supporters when coach Gavin Hunt started the match with Gary McNab playing as a striker instead of his usual place in the heart of the Bird's defence.

Just four minutes before the break McNab did justice to his new position when he scored a beautiful goal from Mark McVeigh's cross.

Just three minutes into the second half, Zambian international Dennis Lota scored with a well taken shot which gave Tornado goalkeeper Sabatha Mbongozi no chance.

Shaun Permall, who had replaced Warren Lewis, scored the third goal for Swallows after having been set-up by Edzai Kasinauyo, who had also came in as a sub.

Kasinauyo then turned goalscorer as he completed the win for the Birds in the 82nd minute to send the Vodacom Second Division team from East London home empty handed.
