Readers back Chiefs... 30/04/04
SASoccer365 readers' give their views on who will win the Soweto derby, and of course, more on Kaizer Chiefs' wayward midfielder, Jabu Pule...

The Soweto derby

Good luck to Chiefs

Pirates is not going to beat Chiefs on Saturday. There's pride at stake and most importantly, a victory for Amakhosi will bring them closer to the title that has eluded them for almost 12 years.

Pirates should not be deceived by the performance they put up in the CAF Cup last weekend. They will be up against a stubborn team.

Good luck to the Chiefs players.

My Soweto derby prediction

The match between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs is not called derby for nothing. It is not easy to predict such a match. The reason being, there is a lot at stake here.

Besides, Pirates is eager to revenge the first leg results, and their dignity is at stake here. The players won't walk easily in the streets if they lose for the second time.

They also know that some people made their bets on them. If they lose many men might lose their wives.

It's a fact guys put their wives on the tables as the jackpot. That is the bad thing about the Soweto derby. Fans, especially Pirates one, are expecting free beers from many sheebens around Soweto after the match.

And Pirates' players are fully aware of that.

On the other side Chiefs badly want to win the league after a decade. They also want to prove that the previous results were not a fluke.

But they won't forget their dignity and the record they have against Ezikamagebhula. This is what make the match more interesting.

This is what makes it difficult to say who is going to win. But I'll put my head on the table and say Chiefs will come up tops at the end.

I can go on and say the score will be  2 - 1 for Chiefs. My reasoning will be, Chiefs are very unpredictable side with very tactical coach in Ted Dumitru.

His side is more disciplined than the Buccaneers. Amakhosi knows how and when to release the ball unlike the Buccaneers.

The downfall of Bucs is that the likes of Makhanya, Tshabalala, Lekoelea and others are more for the crowd than what is at stake. They are skillful and are full of energy, but don't take advantage of that.

Whereas Chiefs have veterans who have been there, done than. So experience will count on the day. It won't be easy for the Bucs' midfielders to free score goals as they do.

That is another problem. Bucs rely more to their midfielders to score than the strikers. The only promising boy is young Mokoena.

But most of the times he turn to be a provider for Phakathi and Vilakazi. Whereas at Chiefs anyone is deadly infront of the goals. One wishes that Pirates defenders can learn more on high balls. Because they are really poor on aerial balls. But come Saturday all hell will break loose.

Chiefs are favorites

Kaizer Chiefs are favorites to win the Soweto derby on Saturday because of the way that Ted Dumitru has managed to turn around the performance of Amakhosi since he took over this season regardless at what his distractors say.

At the other side of the derby, Pirates has not been consistent since Barreto left. Palacios has been trying to find the winning formula soon he set into the hot seat.

He has been changing his starting team week after week and the team does not bring fear any more to its opponents compared to Chiefs.

Love him or hate him, Dumitru has brought the best from his players and I think even the Buccunnaars' fans will be sweating under their black shirts before the ball is even kicked on Saturday.

Chiefs just have too many guns for the mis-firing Buccaneers.

Chiefs are going to take a mighty step closer to the Castle Premiership title by taking three points from arch-rivals Orlando Pirates at the FNB stadium tom morrow.

Chiefs coach Ted "Prof" Dumitru has far too many aces for Buccaneers coach Augusto Palacios.

Dumitru is too canny for Palacios, the amount of skillful players he has at his disposal far outweighs anything Pirates has too offer.

If, we just look at the strikers Chiefs possess, Pirates would be lucky to leave Soccer City, with anything less than a 3-0 drubbing.

DRC international Kabamba Musasa has already showed a knack for scoring in these high profile Soweto derbies. In tandem with the likes of David Radebe or Sibusiso Dlamini, Chiefs just have too many guns for the mis-firing Buccaneers.

There will also be an endless supply of quality balls from the midfield where Stanton 'Stiga' Fredericks, veteran John 'Shoes' Moshoeu and the entertaining Junior Khanye will rule the roost for Chiefs.

Backed up by the most impressive defence in the league this year, the gold and black will fly high tommorrow.

Amakhosi for life!

Bucs will give the arrogant Chiefs a lesson

Kaizer Chiefs think they have won the league, but the Mighty Bucs are going to give them a big surprise on Saturday. Pirates have just hit their best form and no-one can stand in our way.

All I can say is : the slow McCarthy and Mabedi must look out, they won't know what hit them when Duku-Duku, Lekoelea, Lebo Mokoena and Tso run at them.

I think we will beat Chiefs 2-0 and this will help the players get confidence to go on and win the African Cup.

Sorry Ted, your luck is over...

Up the Mighty Buccaneers!!!

The latest on Jabu Pule

He must be released to play overseas

There is no team that can suite Pule style of play locally except Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs is the biggest club in Africa and they boast of supporters as far a field as Egypt and Pule is a rising star that one day will win African footballer of the year if he keeps his feet on the ground.

Chiefs have produced quality players far outweighing Pule skills in the past.  The likes of Lucas Radebe, Teenage Dladla, Ace Ntsoelengoe and Johnny "Magwegwe" Mokoena.

The attention Pule and the glamour is getting is because is playing for Amakhosi. There is no local team that can  provide the platform for Pule to shine the way he is at the moment.

I think if Chiefs cannot renew his contract he must be released to play overseas. Because it will be a waste of talent for him to play for any local team.

In closing there are two teams in this country : Kaizer Chiefs and the rest. I don't see him playing for the rest if he leaves Chiefs.

'Jabu will never play overseas'

I BET JABU PULE WILL NEVER PLAY OVERSEAS BECAUSE OF HIS SOCIAL LIFE OFF THE FIELD. HE IS JUST WAITING FOR HIS CONTRACT TO EXPIRE THEN HE WILL BE JOINING SUNDOWNS AS A FREE AGENT.

I AM A CHIEFS SUPPORTER AND I THINK MANAGEMENT SHOULD BAR HIM FROM ATTENDING TRAINING BECAUSE HE IS SEWING SEEDS OF DISCONTENT AMONG PLAYERS AND THEY MUST STOP NEGOTIATING WITH HIM FOR ANY
CONTRACT. HE IS DISHONEST. KE YONE TANKIE YA MOTSWANA

"Let the man destroy his future"

Kaizer Chiefs is playing very well without this so called "JJ Pule" but the management wants to demotivate other players as if they are doing nothing.

They have the likes of Richards, Khanye, Nhlakanipho "Shaka" Mkize who are well disciplined and who can do the job for Amakhosi. Actually, there is no future in Jabu, he is destroying his own talent and future.

KC please don't kill the spirit of players by putting your hands to Jabu as if he was at Chiefs in the years of 1987,88 when Chiefs were winning everything.

Let him committee suicide, you have tried to build his future but this man is refusing so don't stop him now he's killing himself. You have shown your Fatherhood to him.

Jabu you will be nothing forever, should you leave Chiefs to Sundowns. Where are Eric Ramasike, King Charles and the others? Release him Baba Motaung, but I am telling he will never survive at Sundowns.

Thanks
