Mkhize in hot water at Stars 13/05/04
Manqoba Mkhize is in hot water at Silver Stars after he was told to face the club's disciplinary committee for visiting his sick child in Durban instead of travelling to Bloemfontein with the team to play a friendly game.

The midfielder-cum-striker, whose contract ends at the end of this season, did not travel to Bloemfontein with Silver Stars for a friendly match last week and coach Owen da Gama was not happy and informed Mkhize to face the DC at a date to be set.

But the former Chiefs player was upset to hear that he will be charged because he chose to visit his sick child rather than play a friendly match.

Mkhize said that he did what any responsible father would have done in the situation.

Mkhize has been one of the Limpopo side's top performers this season, having formed an excellent understanding with strikers Surprise Moriri and Dingane Masanabo.

He has scored four times in the Castle Premiership this season.
