Youth Development teams progress report 19/05/04
The Moroka Swallows development teams have all been performing well in their respective divisions. Head of youth development Paul Habib gives us his feedback on the various teams' progress so far this season.

This team got off to a very good start in their league, winning their first 3 games. The following score clarify the situation (5 - 1, 4 - 0 and 8 - 1). They are presently top of their league.

Some PSL Academys have made offers for some of our players.

Our G/K - Sherwyn Naiker has made it to the final 20 for the National under 14 Team.

The Liverpool Knowlsley International Tournament scheduled for July 2004, has been abandoned, due to lack of available funds.

The monies that were raised at the Golf day will be used by the team in a Tournament to be held at Mafikeng over the period of 11 to 13 June 2004. The money will be used to pay for accommodation, transport etc.

The under 15s participated in the Ubungani International Soccer Tournament at the Bedfordview Country Club. They did well and finished 3rd overall.

They also participated in the Supersport Youth Tournament and finished fourth.

This team continues to perform exceptionally well and much is expected from them this season. We have some special players in this team who will make the grades in the future.

This team got off to a very good start in their league, winning their first 3 games. The following scores clarify the situation (3 - 2, 3 - 2 and 8 - 0). They are presently top of their league.

We have managed to sort out much of this teams teething problems, since my last report to you.

Despite their earlier problems, this team got off to a good start in their league, winning their first 3 games. The following scores clarify the situation (6 - 0, 6 - 0 and 2 - 0). They are also top of their league.

A couple of these players will be sent through to join the U19 team next year.

This team is progressing well in their league, having played six games and winning five and losing only one game. They are also presently top of their league.

They went to the Bay Hill Tournament in Cape Town, the biggest under 19 Tournament in Africa, where some of the best teams are represented, and where players are usually sought for the National under 20 team. Two of our players (both G/Ks), have been invited to attend the National camp.

Gavin Hunt, has invited 3 players from the under 19s, to start playing with the first team, in the new season.

The above results are encouraging which shows that Moroka Swallows is definitely moving in the right direction, with their Youth Development Programme.

We Will keep you updated on all pertinent developments
