Former Kaizer Chiefs star Jabu Pule scored a hat-trick in his first match for his Austrian side Mattersburg, in a friendly against Third Division side Horitsghon.
The mercurial midfielder, who signed a two-year deal with the club, was praised by former Chiefs coach Muhsin Ertugral, who now coaches Mattersburg, for his stunning display.
"The cherry on top for Pule is that he has also passed the medical tests and "everything went perfectly well", Ertugral told the City Press.
"Jabu has signed a two-year contract with the option of a one-year extension."
"Jabu has proven himself this week when we beat Horitsghon 5-0 and he has impressed people with his outstanding dribbling skills."
Ertugral also said the crowd screamed Pule's name whenever he touched the ball.
His brother, Tseki, said Pule had phoned him about the goals. "It was the first time I heard Jabu sounding so excited."
Thwana Songame, Pule's girlfriend and the mother of his five-month-old baby, said he phoned her everyday, "He told me about the three goals he scored and he was so happy."
