So far most of the readers have sympathised with 'S-Curl' saying that he was never given a chance with Amakhosi and that he was forced out by coach Ted Dumitru...
'Ted Chiefs treats players badly'
I want just to comment again on this Mendu thing. We can say what ever we think but the only people who know are Ted and Mendu but to my opinion everyone can see what is happening between Mendu and Ted.
The fortunate thing about Coaches is that they can easily get rid of the players. Last season people were saying Mendu failed but in my opinion I say no, he was just not given enough chances.
Look at this, what is better : to go AWOL drinking or just miss one training session buying a car and inform the club.
Every player lies at certain time as a human being, lying is not something new. When Pule disappeared Ted said on Kaizer Chiefs website we must build, not destroy because it was Pule.
He continues and said we must look where most S.A players are coming from, my question : is Mendu coming from another country? The answer is simple - no.
Is it that Ted does not like Mendu?
Ted is an experienced coach - he supposed to know how to handle certain players. You know what, I chose to support Kaizer Chiefs because of Kaizer Motaung - he knows how to treat Coaches and players.
But everyone knows Ted is a coward he disappeared during his time with Sundowns and Pirates - what you expect from him?
And he always complaining - by the way Mendu is transfer listed - I got it from Kick Off website what you say I was lying referring to Zenzo (PMB) e-mail.
Good decision by Mendu Im Chiefs supporter but the way Ted treated you was totally wrong.
Kaizer bought Mendu for a purpose, but here came Ted and everything changed. Please Kaizer dont make excuses - Mendu was supposed to go to a DC for not attending training, now he knows something was going to happen as I even know.
By the way Ted, you must know what goes around comes around. Good luck Jabulani 'S-Curl' Mendu.
I am wishing you can go to Supersport United or Pirates, not Sundowns because now Kaizer thinks about Downs.
I wish you can go where your ability will be recognized - not just sitting on the bench like at (Ted Chiefs) not at Kaizer Chiefs.
I mean Chiefs treat their players equally, therefore Ted Chiefs treats players badly . Good Decision S-Curl. Gavin Hunt didnt have any problem with you - why does Ted?
Dont consider money too much we want you to play for Bafana. Ill always watch you even if you are playing for Hellenic in Mavela Gold League.
Go well S-Curl
I am very disappointed that a player like Mendu is said to be leaving Chiefs. On his day, I don't think there's anyone better in SA.
But I think if he was no longer happy at the club, either because he felt he was not in the coach's plans or for whatever reason, it was proper for him and probably for the good of the club that he asked to be released.
Maybe it will be better for him if he went back to Swallows because that's where he really looked liked someone enjoying his football.
While at Chiefs, I always got the impression that he was always trying to prove to someone that he can really play. That's no recipe for playing good football, he needs to play where he'll just enjoy his football.
All the best for the future S-Curl
A loss to Kaizer Chiefs
I feel it's definitely a loss to Kaizer Chiefs to lose a player of his caliber, even more so in the light of Nengomashe possibly leaving the club as well.
This could leave the team depleted in the midfield without genuine ball winners. The players that Chiefs have signed so far are not proven ball winners, so his departure could have far reaching effects as the season progresses.
But I think it's better for the both the parties to have parted in view of the feud between himself and the coach, Ted Dimitru.
As per who should sign him is up is up the player himself. It's been widely reported that he's interested in joining up with his friend, Brian Baloyi at Sundowns, so that's where I think he'll be more comfortable playing in, with all the big bucks to dangled at him. For his sake I wish good luck.
Future plans for Bafana Bafana
The plans mentioned by the reader (Kevin, Thurday's letters) seems too well thought-through. It's an almost perfect plan, ideal for an ideal world.
The only way we are gonna be able to achieve that is when we have players who are not involved in any of the league games or clubs (local or international).
This kind of plan might be feasible also with the under 15's...mostly players in this groups can do with being away for six months.
Most of their education is not that intense; teachers can be provided to keep them on track.
I think we need to appreciate that our national team's main resource is our clubs. If clubs get the structure of feeding into first teams from under 9's development teams...the national team will follow suite and will find it things easy.
But, I must congratulate the reader for giving it a thought, at least we know there are more people who are not just good at shouting and pointing at the mistakes and inability of our soccer leaders, but also bring about a suggestive solution.
