Matsatsantsa and Wits in boring draw 11/08/04
SuperSport United and Wits University played out to a lack-luster 0-0 draw in a Castle Premiership match at the Loftus Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The match was uneventful throughout and gave the small crowd very little to cheer about.

The home team failed to play their usual free flowing soccer and the Students edged them out in the first half, although there were very few shots at goal from either side.

Jonathan Solomons did come close for the visitors in the 36th minute, and again two minutes later, but on both occasions goal keeper Calvin Marlin kept the home team in the game with fine saves.

The Clever Boys were reduced to 10 men in the 77th minute when captain Charles Yohane was sent off for a second bookable offence, while coach Roger de Sa was also given his marching orders in the closing moments for using what was seen by the referee as abusive language.

United striker Abram Raselemane was put through in the 86th minute by Phil Evans, but Wayne Roberts pulled off a brilliant save to ensure that Wits took a point out of the game.
