Ajax Cape Town coach Gordon Igesund is expecting a tough encounter when his Urban Warriors face Moroko Swallows in their SAA Supa 8 clash at the Rand Stadium on Saturday.
Igesund knows that his side will need to give a much improved performance from the one that saw them go down 3-0 to the same side in their opening Castle Premiership fixture last weekend.
"We are expecting a tough match, Swallows are never an easy team to beat," said 'The Coach'.
"We were lacking oomph and fighting spirit last week, but we have worked on that and the boys are looking good."
However, the Ikamva-based side also have several key players missing for the clash, with Bafana goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs and defender Ashley Opperman still absent through suspension, while key striker Wilfred Mugeyi is still recovering from injury.
But Ajax have been boosted by the return of star defender Brett Evans from trials in the United States and will be available for the match.
"We have a depleted squad," added Igesund. "But we must improve our performance and make it more difficult for them. They had it too easy last week.
"Hopefully, we can spring a surprise."
Meanwhile, veteran goalkeeper Innocent Mayoyo will be playing his last match for the Urban Warriors before joining Durban side, Maritzburg United as a player coach.
