'Ndlovu is not money greedy' 13/08/04
Today's SASoccer365 readers' letters concern the signings made by Sundowns, particulary that of Peter Ndlovu, and more...

'It's like they are giving out food parcels to the needy'

Editor as a soccer follower I love SA soccer and I'm very passionate about it. Every end of the season I watch teams dishing out what they call deadwoods to other teams. Coaches moving from team to the other.

I personally call that solving a problem with a problem. If you look clearly - those deadwoods as soon as they get to other teams - they become livewires. Isn't that strange?

But my main concern and what made me to write this piece is Mamelodi Sundowns. This is one very good side in SA. This is the side that depose Moroka Swallows of their place in the days of SOWETO THREE.

Minwanwa Phezulu made that to THE GAUTENG'S BIG THREE OR PSL BIG THREE. This is a team of many surprises. I don't wanna dwell on that. They always have good administrators, good chairmen.

The team's chairmen are always loaded with bucks. This team has recently surprised me. Their buying spree I think is questionable. Do they buy players because those players are available or do they buy players that they short of?

The way they keep on buying, it is like they are just giving out food parcels to the needy. They let good players go but still bought mediocre players.

Or is it the matter of buying BIG ANIMALS? I've got that feeling. Or is the matter of making hay while the sun still shines? I don't think so.

Some how somewhere somebody should advise the coach and Mr Motsepe himself. Yes he is a good businessman but he can make mistakes. And the age of some players they buy is amazing.

The team has money, they have a good backer. So what is the hurry. Let's build our soccer. Let not worry about winning four cups in one season. But that is a good ambition. Lets build a winning combination not only for our teams, but also for this country. Good luck to them, cause they will really need it.

Dear Mr Jordaan and Members of the Committee

Did SA send a delegation specifically to the Olympics to gain inside information on how to deal with security and what preparation must take place for such big events?

One considers the billions that Athens (and other countries) are spending to ensure that the Olympic games are safe for spectators and sports people.  We are all confident that by 2010 there will be less stress with regards to terrorism, but it will do no harm to learn while one can.

And if you are not sending a team over, how are we currently preparing to safeguard our guests and players for our big event?

Kind regards

'I think Unathi is wrong'

Hi Editor,

I think Unathi is wrong by saying Doctor Khumalo did reach is potential is because he didn't play overseas for long time. But Unathi believe me Doc was great player. Doc is still health even now but why we will compare Doc and Shoes. Ask Rivaldo about Doc he will tell you.

'It's harsh to say Ndlovu is greedy'

I WOULD LIKE ONCE AGAIN THANK MR MOTSEPE FOR ANOTHER BRILLIANT MOVE, BY SIGNING THE EXPERIENCED PETER NDLOVU .THIS MOVE WILL BENEFIT THE TEAM ESPECIALLY NOW THAT DANIEL MODAU IS NOT SCORING ANYMORE AND SIMBA MARUMO IS INJURED,SO THE TEAM NEEDED A QUALITY STRIKER THAT WILL MAKE SURE THAT THE TEAM SCORES.

I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT THE MONEY PETER WILL BE GETTING AT SUNDOWNS IS FAIR BECAUSE OF HIS EXPERIENCE AND THE FACT HE ONE OF THE DEADLIEST STRIKERS IN THE WORLD.

I JUST PRAY THAT HE DOES DELIVER AND PROVE THE CRITICS WRONG.I FEEL IT QUITE HARSH TO SAY GUY IS A GREEDY - GOLD DIGGER, ANYWAY IF IT NOT FOR FANCIAL REASON NO FOREIGNER WOULD BE PLAYING IN SOUTH AFRICA.

IF NDLOVU IS A GOLD DIGGER THEN ALL FOREIGNERS ARE GOLD DIGGERS BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL HERE FOR ONE THING AND EXPOSUER SO THAT THEY 'LL BE ABLE TO GET CONTRACTS OVERSEAS.

MR MOTSEPE IS A VERY SHREWD BUSINESS MAN - HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING WITH HIS BILLIONS.SINCE HE JOINED SUNDOWNS HE HAS DONE WONDERFUL THINGS FOR THE GROWTH OF SOCCER IN THIS COUNTRY,FOR INSTANCE ,THE R10 MILLION HE DONATED TO HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER TOURNAMENT,R2 MILLION ACADEMY FOR SUNDOWNS,BROKE THE TRANSFER RECORDS OF THE PSL.

OTHER SOCCER BOSS SHOULD LEARN FROM MOTSEPE - SUNDOWNS MAKE SURE THAT THEY SIGN FOREIGNERS THAT ADD  VALUE TO SA  SOCCER LIKE NDLOVU .

SO SA FOLLOWERS LETS GIVE THE GUY A CHANCE TO PROVE TO US IF HE REALLY WORTH ALL THESE MILLIONS.
