Boring draw at the Rand Stadium 29/08/04
Jomo Cosmos and Silver Stars played to a dull goalless draw in a Castle Premier Soccer League match played in almost empty Rand Stadium on Sunday.

The strikers of the two teams never threatened their opposite goalkeepers who were reduced to mere spectators in the opening half of this encounter.

The only chance of a goal only came in the 25th minute when Stars striker Elvis Mashao's shot hit the cross bar and the ball came back to him but his follow-up was poorly taken with Cosmos keeper Avril Phali a beaten man as it went wide of the upright bar when a simple strike could have had the job.

With very little to write home about the match in the first half, referee Daniel Bennet was kept busy as he showed five yellow cards in this half only.

He first put Sammy Magalesa in his book in the 14th minute followed by Lovers Mohlala and Mokote Tsotetsi in the 35th minute, all of Cosmos for dangerous play.

And Silver Stars' Stanley Kgatla and Lefa Mogaila were also shown yellow cards for the same offence.

There was action in that last ten minutes of the game as if both teams suddenly realised that the spectators were leaving already before the final whistle of this dull encounter.
